Georgia’s Matthew Stafford, USC’s Mark Sanchez and Kansas State’s Josh Freeman are head-and-shoulders above the other quarterback prospects in the draft. 
Offensive tackles Eugene Monroe of Virginia and Jason Smith of Baylor are both expected to be chosen among the top five picks in the draft. 
While Matthew Stafford is expected to be the first quarterback selected in the draft, Georgia teammate Knowshon Moreno could be the first running back off the board. 
LSU's Tyson Jackson and Tennessee's Robert Ayers may be the best of a thin crop of conventional defensive ends in the draft.
There could be as many as six wide receivers selected in the first round of the draft, likely led by Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree and Missouri’s Jeremy Maclin. 
With 11 NFL teams using some form of a 3-4 defense, hybrid defensive end/outside linebackers such as Brian Orakpo of Texas likely will be coveted in the draft.
There’s little debate that Oklahoma State’s Brandon Pettigrew is at the top of the tight end class in this year’s draft.
