2009 Training Camp driving and parking information: Bears fans traveling to Bourbonnais for Training Camp please be advised there is construction in the Bourbonnais area that surrounds Olivet Nazarene University and the Bears Training Camp facilities. In an effort to avoid traffic congestion please use the directions detailed in the following link when traveling to camp from either the north or the south on Interstate 57.

For the eighth consecutive year Staples Chicago Bears Training Camp presented by Chase will open on Friday, July 31, 2009 on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL. The site which is located about 60 miles south of Chicago, provides the Bears with four practice fields, air conditioned locker rooms, dining facilities, a weight room, meeting rooms and dorms for players and staff.
As always Training Camp will allow fans an opportunity to watch the team practice for FREE. Gates will open one hour prior to the start of all practice sessions. Staples Chicago Bears Training Camp provides a family-friendly atmosphere, which includes the Jewel-Osco Inflatable Kids Zone, Gatorade Junior Training Camps, Staples Kids Only Autograph Sessions (*On Select Days ONLY), giveaways, games and much more.
Theme days and special events this year will include the familiar Armed Forces Day, Comcast Hispanic Day, Family Night at ONU, Comcast Family Day at Soldier Field presented by Chase, Run with Staley, Youth Football Day and Training Camp Safety Service Day featuring several Kankakee area safety service organizations.

Comcast Hispanic Day

Join the Chicago Bears and celebrate Comcast Hispanic Day at Bears Training Camp. In addition to the kids activities, autographs, youth football camps and giveaways there will be special activities around the camp grounds throughout the day.
Armed Forces Day
Friday, August 7
Armed Forces Day is dedicated to the men and women who have served and are currently serving our country. Special reserved bleacher seating will be available for those who dress in uniform. If you are interested in being party of Armed Forces Day, contact the USO of Illinois for more information.

Come see the Bears practice at Comcast Bears Family Day at Soldier Field presented by Chase! Come early for the Pre-practice festivities begin outside the stadium at 10:00am with live music, kids' games, strolling entertainment, radio station remotes, event marketing displays and tons of FREE STUFF!
Gates to the stadium will open at 10:00 a.m. with practice starting at NOON. Don’t miss your chance to get on the field with the “Jersey off Their Back” scratch and win giveaway distributed upon entry.

Bears Family Day at ONU
Tuesday, August 11
Come out to Ward Field and watch the Bears practice under the lights. Pre-practice festivities will start at 6pm with giveaways, junior training camps, interactive games for kids and much more. Practice starts at 7pm with a spectacular fireworks display to follow.
Gates will open at 5:15pm. The night will feature a special performance from the US Army Golden Knight Parachute team at 6:00pm.
Safety Service Day
Wednesday, August 12
Come out to Training Camp and see an assortment of Kankakee area safety service organizations. Don’t miss the police cars, fire trucks, ambulances and more.
Professional safety service personnel will be on hand to show off equipment and educate fans. This event is a must see at camp. Come out to see practice, participate in the camp activities and stop by the safety service display area just off practice field #1.
Run with Staley
Tuesday, August 18
The 4th Annual Run with Staley event for kids ages 14 and under features the official mascot of the Chicago Bears Staley. Race participants will run a one-mile loop around the campus of ONU. A kiddy dash will be available for kids five and under at Ward Field before the one-mile run.
All participants will receive a t-shirt and medal. In addition, Staley will perform his very own First and Goal School Show. Last but not least, the first 50 racers to arrive on the day of the race will receive a pass to the kid's only autograph session following practice.
Registration is only $14 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Daily Journal's Newspaper in Education Program.

Staley Dance Dance Express
Located in the "Jewel-Osco" Inflatable Kids Zone, Dance Express will feature giveaways, music and hands on entertainment. This activity will be available on select days throughout camp. Of course Staley the official mascot of the Chicago Bears will be on hand to lead the charge!
Jewel-Osco Kids Zone
Located just outside the main pro shop between gates 1 and 2, the Jewel-Osco Kids Zone is filled with fun inflatable games and other kids activities. This area will feature obstacle course, bounce houses, sports themed games and smaller inflatable games for younger children. The Kids Zone is open daily for kids ages 4-12. All participants will be required to have a parent or guardian sign a waiver on their behalf to access.
Please note: the Kids Zone will close at 8pm for all night practices.
Gatorade Jr. Training Camp
The Gatorade Junior Training Camps are located next to practice field #1. This area is designed to allow kids the opportunity to learn more about football and test their skills. Catch a punt, kick a field goal, run a route or catch a pass. This area is open for kids ages 4-12. A signed waiver by a parent or guardian is required to access. It is open during most day practices. Hours of operation will fluctuate on a day to day basis based on practice times and special group participation.

Staples Bears Pride Poster Contest
Show your Bears spirit on a poster and you could find it easier to get your favorite players autograph. One select days, Staples will host a poster contest for kids ages 4-12. Each child who participates will be entered into a random drawing. The winners will be selected 30 minutes before the conclusion of that days practice. Those that win, will receive a pass to enter the Staples “Front Row Kids Zone” along the players exit from the practice field. The Bears Pride Poster Contest is located along the pathway adjacent to the tennis courts as you walk towards the practice fields from Gate 1 and 2.
Staples Kids only Autographs
The first 150 kids in line at Gate One before gates open for practice ages 4-12 will receive a pass good for that day’s autograph session only. The autograph session is typically held immediately following the first practice of the day and is located inside the tennis court area. Please remember to arrive at the tennis courts BEFORE practice ends. Autograph rules are as follows: kids must be able to stand in line on their own, one autograph per person and no pictures with players. Autograph rules are put in place to ensure a safe environment for the kids and players. Thank you for your cooperation.
