CHICAGO BEARS 2007 KID ZONE “GAME FACE” CONTEST

OFFICIAL RULES

ELIGIBILITY. The 2007 Bears Kid Zone “Game Face” Contest (“The Contest”) is open only to legal residents and citizens of the 50 United States (including the District of Columbia) who are between the ages of six (6) and fourteen (14) years old at the time of entry, whose parents or guardians fully complete a valid Entry, including a parent or guardian’s signature agreeing to be bound by the terms of conditions of these Official Rules. Children or relatives (grandchildren, nieces, nephews, siblings, or cousins) of directors, officers and employees of the National Football League or the Chicago Bears Football Club, Inc. (“Bears”) are not eligible to win. Void in Puerto Rico, U.S. territories and possessions, and where prohibited by law.
SPONSOR. The Contest is sponsored by the Bears, 1000 Football Drive, Lake Forest, Illinois 60045.
AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES. By participating in the Contest, each entrant and his or her parent or legal guardian who co-signs the entry unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between these Official Rules and any advertisement, promotional or marketing materials, or other announcements relating to this Contest, these Official Rules govern. Sponsor may amend these Official Rules by posting such amended Official Rules on www.chicagobears.com.
DEADLINE. To be eligible to win the Contest, you must submit one and only one Entry (as defined herein) in a manner that assures receipt of the Entry by 11:59pm (central time) on December 7, 2007.
HOW TO ENTER. To participate in the Contest, parent/guardian must complete all fields marked required on the submission portion of the site. E-mail address of entrant and parent/guardian may be provided, but is optional. The entrant’s parent or guardian must also check the box on the Official Entry Form signifying agreement to these Official Rules on the entrant’s behalf. You may also print the entry form posted on www.chicagobears.com/kidzone website, including a parent signature agreeing to be bound by the terms and conditions of these official rules and mail to CHICAGO BEARS, ATTN: KIDZONE “GAME FACE” CONTEST, 1000 FOOTBALL DRIVE, LAKE FOREST, ILLINOIS 60045. There is no fee or purchase required to participate.

Once the parent/guardian has completed and submitted the entry form and agreed to be bound by the official rules, email us a photograph of your best game face, along with your name, your parent’s name your age, your home town and your telephone number (“Entry”) to matt.simeone@bears.nfl.net. Be creative, put on your Bears gear, paint your face, wave your pom-poms, and give us a growl! We will feature your “Game Face” photograph in the Kid Zone area of ChicagoBears.com. If you are unable to email your photograph, you can mail it to CHICAGO BEARS, ATTN: KIDZONE “GAME FACE” CONTEST, 1000 FOOTBALL DRIVE, LAKE FOREST, ILLINOIS 60045.
“GAME FACE” WINNER SELECTION. One “Game Face” photograph will be selected as the contest winner. The selection of the contest winner will be made by the Bears, whose decisions are final. There will be one winner who will be chosen on Tuesday, December 18, 2007. The contest winner will be notified by telephone between 12:00pm central time and 3:00pm central time. If a potential winner cannot be contacted after a reasonable attempt or is otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules or is unable or unwilling to comply with these Official Rules, the potential winner will be disqualified and that potential winner’s right to receive a prize is forfeited. In this instance, the Bears have the right to choose another winner. Upon selection, the winner’s parent or legal guardian will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility/release of liability. Potential winners’ parent or legal guardian will be required to accompany the child to the Chicago Bears practice facility in Lake Forest, Illinois. Potential winners must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements mentioned in these rules.
“GAME FACE” WINNER. Subject to the satisfaction of the foregoing, the winning child will be invited along with his or her parent or legal guardian to attend a Chicago Bears practice at Halas Hall in Lake Forest, Illinois on a date and time to be selected by the Bears. In addition, the winning child will have the opportunity to interview a Chicago Bears player after practice. A member of the Bears staff will assist the winner with interview questions. The interview will be approximately five (5) minutes in length. After the interview is completed, it will be made available on the Bears Kid Zone website for all fans to watch. All taxes (including, without limitation, federal, state, and local taxes) on or connected with the prize and the reporting consequences thereof are the sole and exclusive responsibilities of the winner or the winner’s parent or legal guardian, as applicable. Chicago Bears practice is held at 1000 Football Drive, Lake Forest, Illinois 60045. Travel and accommodations and any other cost associated with attendance at the Chicago Bears practice, including, ground transportation are NOT included. No substitutions of prize permitted, except that Bears reserves the right to substitute cash or a prize of equal or greater value should the advertised prize become unavailable. The winner must be accompanied to the Chicago Bears practice facility by a parent, legal guardian, or other adult over 21 years of age.
PUBLICITY RELEASE. By participating in the Contest, the entrant irrevocably grants the Bears, the NFL and each of their affiliates, subsidiaries, successors, assigns and licensees (the “Contest Entities”), the right to use such entrant’s name, photograph, image, video, home state, in any and all media (including www.chicagobears.com) for any purpose, including, without limitation, advertising and promotional purposes and each entrant hereby releases the Contest Entities from any liability with respect thereto, except where prohibited. Completion of the on-line entry form by the entrant’s parent or legal guardian, and/or signature of the entry form by the entrant’s parent or legal guardian if submitted by mail, constitutes assent to these written terms.
IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ GENERAL RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS ON LIABILITY. By entering the Contest, all entrants agree to forever waive, release, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Bears, it owners, employees, agents, attorneys, directors, officers, shareholders, contractors, successors, assigns and insurers (collectively “Bears Related Parties”) and of for and from any and all claims, debts, liabilities, demands, obligations, costs, fees, expenses, actions, causes of action whatsoever, of every nature, character and description (collective, “Claims”), known and unknown, including, but not limited to, all those arising out of or in any way related to the Contest; these Official Rules; Entrant’s Entry; the negligence of Bears or any of the Bears Related Parties; the acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize; and any participation in the Contest. In addition, each entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Bears are not responsible for any costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising from or in connection with: (i) incomplete, lost, late, misdirected or illegible entries or for failure to receive entries due to any cause, including without limitation, human, transmission, or technical problems, failures, or malfunctions of any kind, whether originating with sender or otherwise, that may limit an entrant’s ability to participate in the Contest; or (ii) any injury or damage resulting from participation in the Contest and/or the use or misuse of any prize (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, or any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages related to or based on the entrant’s rights of publicity or privacy, or the entrant’s claim that he or she has somehow been defamed or portrayed in a false light.)

By submitting an Entry, Entrant represents and warrants that he or she owns and/or has the authority to release the Claims stated herein. Further, by submitting an Entry or accepting any prize, all Entrants and Prize Winners expressly agree to at all times defense, hold harmless, and indemnify the Bears and all Bears Related Parties from and against all Claims of any kind or nature whatsoever (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and disbursements) arising out of or in any way related to the Contest; these Official Rules; Entrant’s Entry; the negligence of Bears or any Bears Related Parties; the acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize; and any participation in the Contest. Each person submitting an entry on behalf of an individual under eighteen (18) years of age represents and warrants that they have the authority to agree to all terms and conditions of these Official Rules on behalf of such individual and, by submitting an entry, agrees to at all times defend, hold harmless, and indemnify the Bears and all Bears Related Parties from and against any and all Claims of any kind or nature whatsoever including reasonable attorneys’ fees and disbursements) arising out of or in any way related to the Contest.
GOVERNING LAW. ALL ISSUES AND QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION, VALIDITY, INTERPRETATION AND ENFORCEABILITY OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES OR THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE ENTRANTS OR BEARS IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONTEST SHALL BE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS WITHOUT GIVING EFFECT TO ANY CHOICE OF LAW OR CONFLICT OF LAW RULES OR PROVISIONS THAT WOULD CAUSE THE APPLICATION OF ANY OTHER STATE’S LAWS.
ARBITRATION. By participating in this Contest, all entrants agree that any and all disputes they may have with, or claims or causes of action they may have against, Bears relating to, arising out of or connected in any way with (i) the Contest, (ii) the awarding or redemption of prizes, and/or (iii) the determination of the scope or applicability of this agreement to arbitrate, will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class or representative action, and exclusively by final and binding arbitration administered by the National Arbitration Forum (the “Forum”) pursuant to the Forum’s Code of Procedure before a sole arbitrator. The arbitration shall be conducted on an expedited basis and in strict confidence. The arbitrator shall not have the power to impose punitive damages. Each party hereby waives any and all rights and benefits which it might otherwise have or be entitled to under federal law or the laws of Illinois or any other jurisdiction to litigate any such dispute in court, it being the intention of the parties to arbitrate all such disputes. The arbitrator's decision shall be controlled by the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and any other agreements the applicable entrant may have entered into in connection with the Contest, and shall be final and binding, and shall provide for each party to bear its own costs of arbitration and lawyers’ fees. Judgment upon the award of the arbitrator may be entered or enforced in any court of competent jurisdiction. If either party shall fail to appear at the hearing on the date designated in accordance with the Forum's rules, or shall otherwise fail to participate in the arbitration proceeding, the arbitrator is hereby empowered to proceed ex parte.
INVALIDITY/HEADINGS. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. Headings and captions are used in these Official Rules solely for convenience of reference, and shall not be deemed to affect in any manner the meaning or intent of these Official Rules or any provision hereof.
WINNERS LIST. After the end of the Contest, the name of the winner may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, postage-stamped envelope to: Chicago Bears Attention: Kid Zone Game Face Contest, 1000 Football Drive, Lake Forest, Illinois 60045, on or before January 14, 2008.
PRIVACY. Bears collect personal information from entrants when they enter this Contest. This information is subject to use for internal operations only within the Bears organization.
