Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of e-mail questions from fans every day on ChicagoBears.com.
Larry: Was the Bears drafting of cornerbacks Corey Graham and Trumaine McBride in the late rounds instead of targeting a wide receiver an indication that Devin Hester is moving to receiver?
Carlos S.

Carlos: Not necessarily. Because the Bears have not yet decided whether to move Devin Hester from cornerback to wide receiver, his status did not factor into which positions they selected in the draft. Here’s what coach Lovie Smith said about Hester a few days before the draft: “I’m kind of looking at him as a wildcard still. He could play either one, so we’re just going to go in and try to get the best (player).” After choosing Corey Graham in the fifth round, the Bears weren’t planning on drafting another cornerback, but Trumaine McBride had the top grade when it was their turn to pick in the seventh round. A good thing about drafting multiple cornerbacks is that it’s a position that often produces good special teams players.
Larry: Most NFL teams open up their minicamps this weekend. What’s the schedule for Bears rookie camps and minicamps?
Jay
Jay: The Bears will conduct their rookie minicamp this Friday through Sunday before holding their full squad minicamp in two weeks from May 18 through 20. Both camps are closed to the public, but ChicagoBears.com will provide you with all the latest news, features, video, audio and much more.
Larry: I have seen conflicting reports. Did the Bears sign undrafted free agent Darius Walker?
Mike L.
Chicago
Mike: As of Wednesday night, the Bears had not signed Notre Dame running back Darius Walker.
