LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The forecast for Sunday’s NFC divisional playoff game in Chicago sounds like it’s perfect for a polar bear, but Brian Urlacher doesn’t seem to care.

The last time the Bears played in heavy snow was last December in Pittsburgh when Kyle Orton was the team's starting quarterback.
A wintry mix of snow, sleet and ice is expected. The forecast also calls for a high of 35 degrees, strong winds and a 70 percent chance of precipitation.

“Are they going to change the game time because of the weather?” Urlacher said. “Are they maybe going to go inside?

"It doesn’t matter to me. The weather has no bearing. The weather is not going to win this game for us, I know that much. The players on the field are going to win this game. I hope it’s cold. I like playing in the cold. I think all of my teammates do, for the most part.”

No one likely will be more affected by inclement weather than Robbie Gould, but the Bears kicker isn’t losing any sleep worrying about whether the conditions will be treacherous.

“You can’t really prepare too much,” Gould said. “Obviously, you’re out in the wind all the time. It’s Chicago; you’re going to get that. You’ve got to understand that that’s what it’s going to be like. I can’t say the wind’s going to stop. I can’t stop the snow by any means.

“I’ve just got to go out there and know it’s going to be a factor, and when I go out there to warm up, make sure I have the right cleats and the right equipment that I need to go out there and do my job.”

The Bears offense isn’t making any drastic changes in anticipation of the wintry weather.

“We don’t worry about that,” said quarterback Rex Grossman. “We don’t have less deep balls necessarily because it’s going to be bad weather or anything like that. We have our stuff that we are going to run that we think is going to work.”

“We have to just come up with our normal game plan and then you adjust it,” said offensive coordinator Ron Turner. “If you need to, if it’s windy or whatever, you adjust it. But you go into the week in your game plan expecting normal conditions and all that and you just adjust it as you need to.”
