CHICAGO – Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris is expected to be disciplined by the NFL after getting ejected from Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals for punching Arizona guard Deuce Lutui in the face.

Tommie Harris gets escorted off the field after being ejected from Sunday's game.
“He got kicked out of the football game and normally you get a fine with that,” said coach Lovie Smith. “I know the league will review it, and whatever they decide, of course we’ll stand behind it.”

Harris drew the ejection and a 15-yard penalty after punching Lutui, who was lying on his back, at the conclusion of Tim Hightower’s 13-yard run on the game’s fourth play from scrimmage.

“I am going to watch it and I am going to talk to him,” said defensive end Adewale Ogunleye, a Bears co-captain. “That kind of play is unacceptable for you to get ejected from the game. I don’t care what happens, you can’t do it. You’re a leader out there. We need you out there for the game.

“I’ve got to watch the film, but the way the rules are set up, you just can’t do stuff like that, getting ejected. I think they got into it a little earlier and I don’t know what happened. I can’t even comment on that. I’ve got enough problems myself, but I am going to talk to him and see exactly what happened. But that is totally unacceptable.”
