LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears confirmed Wednesday that defensive end Julius Peppers will wear jersey No. 90, the same number that he donned the past eight seasons with the Carolina Panthers.
It is not yet known what number defensive lineman Jarron Gilbert will wear this season. The 2009 third-round pick from San Jose State wore No. 90 with the Bears last year as a rookie when he appeared briefly in four games.
The Bears have yet to announce what numbers running back Chester Taylor and tight end Brandon Manumaleuna will wear. Peppers, Taylor and Manumaleuna all signed with the Bears last Friday on the first day of free agency.
