Veteran safety Bullocks signs one-year tender

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Restricted free agent safety Josh Bullocks on Thursday signed the one-year tender offer he received from the Bears. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bullocks, 27,  appeared in 12 games with four starts in his first year with the Bears in 2009, registering 21 tackles on defense and five on special teams. 

He recorded seven tackles on defense in each of the final two games of the season in wins over the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions.

Bullocks originally signed with the Bears last March after spending his first four NFL seasons with the Saints. He appeared in 62 career games with 49 starts for New Orleans, compiling 306 tackles, six interceptions and four forced fumbles.

Bullocks is the first of the Bears’ five restricted free agents to sign his tender offer. The others are defensive end Mark Anderson, defensive back/return specialist Danieal Manning and linebackers Nick Roach and Jamar Williams.
