LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears on Monday signed quarterback Mike Teel to a two-year contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Teel was selected by the Seahawks in the sixth round (178th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. He spent his entire rookie year on Seattle’s active roster, but did not appear in a regular-season game.

The Rutgers product appeared in all four preseason contests, completing 20 of 41 passes for 238 yards with three touchdowns, one interception and an 81.1 passer rating.

Teel was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots in May, but released three weeks later.

With Teel joining starter Jay Cutler, backup Caleb Hanie and rookie sixth-round pick Dan LeFevour, the Bears will bring four quarterbacks to training camp.
