LAKE FOREST, Ill. – After a three-day weekend, the Bears return to the practice field today at Halas Hall to begin preparing for Sunday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome.

Matt Forte ran for a 3-yard touchdown in last season's 22-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
The Bears (3-1) will look to extend their three-game winning streak and avenge a crushing 22-20 loss to the Falcons (3-1) last season in Atlanta. In that contest, Chicago took a 20-19 lead on Kyle Orton’s 17-yard touchdown pass to Rashied Davis with just :11 remaining.

But rookie quarterback Matt Ryan completed a 26-yard pass to Michael Jenkins to set up Jason Elam’s  48-yard field goal on the game’s final play, turning jubilation to disbelief on the Bears sideline.

The Bears currently trail the Vikings (5-0) by a game and a half in the NFC North after Minnesota defeated the hapless Rams 38-10 in St. Louis on Sunday.

The Falcons destroyed the 49ers 45-10 in San Francisco on Sunday as Ryan completed 22 of 32 passes for 329 yards with 2 touchdowns, Michael Turner rushed for 97 yards and three TDs and Roddy White caught eight passes for a franchise-record 210 yards and 2 TDs.

"Impressive," coach Lovie Smith said Monday morning on WBBM-AM 780. "They dominated a good San Francisco team with all three phases. It'll be a big challenge for our team this week."
