The Bears on Saturday agreed to terms with safety Tom Zbikowski on a one-year contract.

Tom Zbikowski
Zbikowski, who grew up in the Chicago area, spent his first five NFL seasons with the Ravens (2008-11) and Colts after being selected by Baltimore in the third round of the 2008 draft out of Notre Dame.

The 5-11, 200-pounder has appeared in 64 career games with 25 starts, recording 89 tackles, three interceptions, eight pass breakups and two sacks. He also has registered 59 special teams tackles, and averaged 6.3 yards on 16 punt returns and 21.4 yards on 20 kickoff returns.

Zbikowski, 27, grew up in Arlington Heights and attended Buffalo Grove High School. He went to Thomas Middle School in Arlington Heights with new Bears teammate Tom Nelson.

Zbikowski is the sixth free agent the Bears have signed in the last 12 days, following left tackle Jermon Bushrod, tight end Martellus Bennett, defensive end Turk McBride, tight end Steve Maneri and linebacker D.J. Williams.
