After sitting out practice Wednesday, tight end Kellen Davis (back) and defensive tackle Henry Melton (shin) worked out on a limited basis Thursday in advance of Sunday night’s game in Green Bay.

Running back Marion Barber (calf), linebacker Lance Briggs (ankle) and receiver Devin Hester (ankle) all missed practice Thursday for the second straight day.

“We need to get Barber, Lance Briggs and Devin Hester back out there,” said coach Lovie Smith. “We’re going to need every good player we have to beat a mighty team like the Packers.”

For Green Bay, defensive end Ryan Pickett (concussion) did not practice; and linebacker Desmond Bishop (calf), tackle Chad Clifton (hamstring/back), nose tackle Howard Green (foot) and defensive end Mike Neal (shoulder) were limited.

Packers tackle Bryan Bulaga (knee) and receiver Greg Jennings (knee) have already been ruled out of Sunday night’s game.
