The Bears on Tuesday waived/injured veteran linebacker Brian Iwuh and promoted first-year linebacker Patrick Trahan from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
Iwuh, who suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s loss to the Raiders, spent two seasons with the Bears, recording 32 special-teams tackles, including a team-leading 14 this year.
In six NFL seasons—he played four years with the Jaguars before joining the Bears—Iwuh has registered 93 tackles on special teams and 80 on defense while appearing in 85 games.
Trahan spent the first 12 weeks of the regular season on the Bears' practice squad. He was on the Titans' practice squad last year as a rookie after being signed by Tennessee as an undrafted free agent.
In two seasons at Mississippi, Trahan recorded 98 tackles, seven sacks, 16½ tackles-for-losses, two interceptions and three forced fumbles in 26 games.
