Starting with the 2011 season, Verizon is a Bears Hall of Fame Partner and the Official Wireless Provider of the Chicago Bears. Strategically, football is Verizons lead sponsorship category. Their strategy is to tap into passionate football fans and deliver content to that fan through smartphone apps and high-tech, state of the art network. Whether its stats, live games, or streaming videos, Verizons commitment is to partner with sports teams to deliver the most robust content experience for the best fan experience possible. We are thrilled to enter into this relationship with the Chicago Bears, a team and landmark that are such inseparable parts of Chicago and the state of Illinois, said T.J. Fox, President-Illinois/Wisconsin Region, Verizon Wireless. The Bears and Verizon Wireless make a great team. The Bears are a premier organization with an extraordinary tradition of dedication, determination and excellence. Those are qualities we embrace at Verizon.

As a Bears partner, Verizon will be focusing on engaging fans through branding and on-site activation as well as providing a new Verizon Wireless/NFL smartphone application. A collaborative effort between the Bears and Verizon, the Bears-specific mobile app will provide even more in-depth information on players, stadium information and updates on team activities and merchandise. The team app is a great complement to NFL Mobile, one of Verizons signature apps, that gives NFL fans all they need right on their smartphones. NFL Mobile, available only for Verizon customers, has a live streaming video of NFL Network 24/7, plus NFL RedZone and Sunday Night Football and select Thursday night football games during the season. The app also lets fans set alerts for their favorite teams and players, read up on the latest news and information from the league keeping them close to the game all year long.

Verizon is in its second year as the official wireless service provider for the NFL. The NFL partnership provides Verizon national exposure in all the markets they do business while deepening that love of football through local club relationships, particularly those clubs whose brand is extraordinarily strong, like the Bears.
