How many points does
Evergreen Park, Illinois
With 1,025 points, Robbie Gould trails Kevin Butler's all-time Bears record of 1,116 by 91. Gould has averaged 7.4 points since joining the team in 2005. If he maintains that pace he will break the record in the 13th game of the 2014 season. Wouldn't it be interesting if his holder for that kick happens to be Drew Butler, Kevin's son? The former Georgia punter signed a reserve/future contract with the Bears earlier this month. Of course, if the NFL does away with extra points, as Commissioner Roger Goodell recently suggested could happen at some point because they have become so automatic, Gould's pursuit of the scoring record could take longer.
When was the last time an NFL team had two 1,200-yard receivers and one 1,200-yard rusher like the Bears did this season with
The Bears became the first NFL team to accomplish the feat since the 2002 Buffalo Bills with running back Travis Henry and receivers Eric Moulds and Peerless Price. Interestingly, four teams had two 1,200-yard receivers and one 1,200-yard rusher in 2000: the Broncos with receivers Rod Smith and Ed McCaffrey and running back Mike Anderson; the Jaguars with receivers Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell and running back Fred Taylor; the Vikings with receivers Randy Moss and Cris Carter and running back Robert Smith; and the Rams with receivers Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce and running back Marshall Faulk.
When was the last time the Bears had two or more offensive skill position players voted to the Pro Bowl in the same year? I feel like 1985 with Jim McMahon and Walter Payton could have been the last time.
You're exactly right. This season marks the first time the Bears have had multiple skill position players voted into the Pro Bowl since 1985 with Jim McMahon and Walter Payton. In addition, with Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall, it's the first time they've had three since 1963 when quarterback Bill Wade, running back Joe Marconi and tight end Mike Ditka were selected after helping the Bears win the NFL championship.
