Greeting’s Bears fans! Long time no talk. How about those Bears? AMAZING! SUPER BOWL…SUPER BEARS.
I’ve been staying rather busy over the past few weeks. For those of you fortunate enough to have received playoff tickets, you probably saw some new Staley costumes. The first costume was a Blues Brothers outfit. Complete with matching pants, jacket, sunglasses and hat. I even brought out a sidekick to play the roll of Joliet Jake. Naturally we had to dance to the tune of “Sweet Home Chicago”. Mainly because Chicago is sweet (I would even go as far as to say Chicago is super sweet), but also because it is my home.
Mayor Daily is cool enough to allow bears residency. To the best of my knowledge I believe I am the only bear currently living in Chicago, but hopefully after the Super Bowl that will all change. Don’t be afraid if you see a few of my pals walking around town in the future. Trust me…we mean you no harm. That is unless of course you are foolish enough to wear a Packers shirt, or drape yourself in raw meat. In that case, I cannot be held responsible for my furry friend’s actions.
The NFC Championship game was incredible. Tall “props” to you Bear fans! The energy at Soldier field during that game was electrifying. While most fans came to the game bundled up and ready to brave the elements, I spotted a few fans crazy enough to go shirtless. To those fans I say…good luck with that. Let me know how the frost bite treats you. I was fortunate enough to have the warmest “seat” in the house…literally. I think I lost about 6 pounds that game. I’ve since gained that weight back, thanks to a few helpings of Polish Sausage and Chicago-style deep dish pizza. Similar to the Seattle game, I debuted some new costumes for the NFC Championship game. My favorite outfit was my new Zubaz pants. Nothing screams Bears fan more than a pair of tacky Zubaz pants. Consider me a trendsetter; I hear they are coming back in style. I also wanted to give a shout out to the two girls holding a sign that read “Staley is Foxy”. Hopefully you made it on TV not only for your cleverness, but also because it is true…I am rather handsome…in a furry- fish smelling sort of way.
In addition to the past two playoff games, you may have seen me on such shows as Fox In The Morning, CBS morning news, and NBC 5. I even helped my pal Benny The Bull out with a skit at the Bulls game last week. That was awesome! I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to not only Benny, but to the fans attending the game as well. I felt like Michael Jordan when I came out. (To bad I can’t dunk like him) I just arrived in Miami Monday and have been staying rather busy down here. I attended the opening ceremonies at Hard Rock Casino along with several of my other furry friends from around the League. I would have put a few quarters in the slot machine, but to my dismay I don’t have any pockets to carry quarters. Instead I threw out a ton of high fives and posed for a million pictures. My paw is still cramped from all the autographs I gave out that night. Not to worry though, if you see me out and about I’ll sign anything you want. That is unless of course you are a Packers fan. Then I may take it upon myself to have an early snack. By snack I mean the Packers fan.
Tomorrow you can catch me on The Best Damn Sports Show…Period. Later this week I will also be on Univision-Miami. I have also been keeping busy with my First and Goal school shows. For those of you who have not booked me for the second semester…I suggest you do so soon. My schedule is filling up fast.
Well I gotta run. It’s time for me to take a bubble bath. This Miami heat is not “bear friendly”. Be on the lookout for a daily blog on my experiences while down in Miami. I’ll see all of you at the victory parade on Tuesday!
STAY COOL Chicago and never forget “You’re the pride and joy of Illinois, Chicago Bears…BEAR DOWN”.
