COLLEGE: Four-year letterman at Arizona State (1997-2000) was the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year as a senior after walking-on the team as a freshman… Finished career with 330 tackles with 202 solo tackles (5th-most in school history), 14 sacks, 2 INTs, 5 forced fumbles and 6 fumble recoveries… 53 tackles for loss ranks 6th in school annals since 1970… Started every game played at weakside linebacker in final 3 seasons after seeing time as a reserve inside linebacker for redshirt freshman season… Earned Cecil Abono Captains Award, defensive team MVP and all Pac-10 first-team honors as a junior and senior… A finalist for the Dick Butkus Award, given to the top linebacker in college football, and for the Football News’ National Defensive Player of the Year Award as a senior after registering 127 tackles (93 solo tackles is 2nd most in a single-season in ASU history) with 4 sacks, 1 INT, 3 forced fumbles and 4 fumble recoveries… Was also an All-America first-team selection by The Sports Xchange and second-team selection by the Walter Camp Foundation… Led team with 111 tackles as a junior, despite missing season opener, after starting final 11 games of the year… Recorded 21 tackles for loss (8th-most for a Sun Devil in a single season since 1970) adding 5 sacks, 1 INT and 1 forced fumble… Started all 11 games at weakside linebacker as a sophomore finishing with 75 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries…  Appeared in every game as a reserve inside linebacker during redshirt freshman season, recording 17 tackles while appearing mostly on special teams… Redshirted as a true freshman after making team as a walk-on… Majored in interdisciplinary studies/secondary education.
