Biography

PRO CAREER: Has started at both tackle positions along the offensive line in his first two seasons in the NFL... Started 16 games at LT and 12 contests at RT... Made starts in 28 of 30 games played... Helped block for one 1,000-yard rusher (RB Matt Forté in 2010)... Started two playoff contests at RT.

HONORS AND AWARDS: 2010 - Brian Piccolo Award.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS: Drafted in the seventh round (218th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft (4/23/10)... Signed a four-year contract with Chicago (5/16/10). SIGNED through 2013

2011 SEASON: Started all 16 contests at LT... Helped Bears offense eclipse 2,000-yard rushing mark (2,015) for second time in 21 years, while averaging 4.4 yards per carry, highest team total since 1990. GAMES PLAYED-STARTED: 16-16

PREVIOUS SEASONS: 2010 - Appeared in 14 games, making 12 starts... All 12 starts came at RT... Helped solidify an offensive line that saw the Bears finish the season by winning 7-of-9 games... Helped block for Matt Forte to rush for 1,069 yards.

COLLEGE CAREER: Spent time at West Texas A&M (2008-09), Navarro (Texas) College (2007) and the University of Texas (2006)... Started 24-of-25 games played on the offensive line at West Texas A&M... Named first-team all-Lone Star South Division... As a junior, part of offensive line that allowed just 19 sacks over the course of the entire season, while helping put up a school-record 7,079 yards of offense... As a sophomore, named first-team NJCAA All-America honors while at Navarro College... Also earned all-Southwest Junior College Football Conference first team accolades... In his freshman season, saw action in 12 games at tackle for Texas.

PERSONAL: Attended Mesquite North H.S. where he was a Parade All-American and SuperPrep All-American... Participated in the U.S. Army All-America Bowl and was an EA Sports second team All-American.
