Chalk Talk: Are autographs free at Bears100?

Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of questions from fans on ChicagoBears.com.

Do the autographs at the Bears100 Celebration Weekend cost extra?
Shawn B.

No, autographs at the Bears100 Celebration Weekend June 7-9 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont are free. Weekend admission passes are available for $125, while single-day tickets for Saturday or Sunday are $99. The Bears100 Celebration Weekend will honor the team's 100th season. The event will include autograph sessions, photo opportunities, panels, memorabilia and merchandise sales, interactive games, kids activities and a Bears history zone. The entire 2019 team and coaching staff is scheduled to attend, as are Hall of Famers Dick Butkus, Richard Dent, Dan Hampton, Mike Singletary and Brian Urlacher.

How many Bears defensive coaches have been replaced from last season?
Greg A.

The only position coach who remains with the Bears from last year's defense is line coach Jay Rodgers. Two others who worked as defensive quality control coaches have been promoted: Sean Desai to safeties coach and Bill Shuey to defensive pass analyst/assistant linebackers coach. New position coaches working under first-year coordinator Chuck Pagano include Ted Monachino (senior defensive assistant/outside linebackers), Mark DeLeone (inside linebackers) and Deshea Townsend (secondary).

What do you think was the best performance by a Bears player in a game this season?
Arnie R.
Rockford, Illinois

Fortunately for the Bears, there were a whole bunch to choose from during a memorable 12-4 division-championship-winning season. If I had to pick one, I'd go with Mitchell Trubisky's record-breaking performance in a 48-10 win over the Buccaneers Sept. 30 at Soldier Field. Trubisky became the first quarterback in Bears history to throw five touchdown passes in a half, and his six TD passes in the game were the most by a Bears quarterback since Johnny Lujack threw six in a 1949 win over the Chicago Cardinals. The only Bears quarterback with more was Hall of Famer Sid Luckman, who shares the NFL record with seven in a 1943 victory over the New York Giants
