Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of email questions from fans on ChicagoBears.com.

How is Kevin White progressing? Is it possible that he will return this season?

Ryan J.
Fresno, California

Kevin White did some light work on the practice field Thursday and is making progress in his recovery from surgery to stabilize a stress fracture in his shin. But it's not clear whether the Bears' first-round draft pick will be able to return this season. Here's what coach John Fox said this week about White: "They are continuing to rehab. The training staff, they've been doing a lot of indoor work. Now he's progressing to where he can get on the grass a little bit. He's not been activated. He's still on reserve PUP."

In my opinion, Robbie Gould is the definition of a clutch kicker. Where does he rank as far as accuracy among active kickers?

Jacquel G.
Orlando, Florida

Robbie Gould is the seventh most accurate kicker in NFL history and fifth among active kickers, having made 86.1 percent of his career field goal attempts (254 of 295). He trails Dan Bailey (90.4 percent), Justin Tucker (89.3), Stephen Gostkowski (87.2), Mike Vanderjagt (86.5), Steven Hauschka (86.4) and Nate Kaeding (86.2).

I know the Bears just signed Antone Smith with Jacquizz Rodgers going on IR. Will Jeremy Langford be the second back behind Kyle Long?

Jason
New Bern, North Carolina

Rookie Jeremy Langford is listed as the No. 2 running back on the Bears depth chart behind Matt Forte, so I'm assuming the fourth-round draft pick from Michigan State will fulfill that role. In the first five games this season, Forte has gotten 81 percent of the carries (102 of 126) by Bears running backs, with 14 going to Jacquizz Rodgers and 10 going to Langford.
