Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has been named NFC offensive player of the week for his performance in last Sunday's 34-22 win over the Detroit Lions.

Trubisky completed 23 of 30 passes for a career-high 355 yards with three touchdowns, no turnovers and a 148.6 passer rating. He also rushed for a TD in helping the Bears (6-3) win their third straight game and maintain their lead atop the NFC North.

In the first half, Trubisky connected on 14 of 16 passes for 209 yards with two touchdowns and a perfect 158.3 passer rating. He led the Bears to touchdowns on each of their first four possessions, engineering drives of 75, 91, 71 and 18 yards.

"I thought Mitch probably had his best game of the season, without a doubt," said coach Matt Nagy. "He was on fire, he was efficient, threw the ball with conviction, his eyes were great. I'm really super proud of him for coming out here and playing that way. He played confident, and I like that."

Sunday marked the second time this season that Trubisky has passed for at least 300 yards and three TDs with no interceptions. Only three other Bears quarterbacks have even accomplished that feat once since the 1970 NFL/AFL merger: Vince Evans in 1980 in a 61-7 win over the Packers, Erik Kramer in 1995 in a 34-28 loss to the Rams and Josh McCown in 2013 in a 45-28 victory over the Cowboys.

Trubisky's 300-yard game against the Lions was his fourth of the season, tying a Bears record shared by Bill Wade (1962), Jay Cutler (2014) and Brian Hoyer (2016).

Over the last six games, Trubisky has passed for 1,713 yards with 17 TDs, four interceptions and a 114.8 passer rating while also rushing for 256 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries.

This season the second pick in the 2017 draft has passed for 2,304 yards with 19 TDs, seven interceptions and a 101.6 passer rating that ranks 10th in the NFL.

Trubisky is the first Bears player to be named offensive player of the week since running back Jordan Howard in Week 8 of 2016 and the first Bears quarterback to win the award since Josh McCown in Week 14 of 2013.
