Ronell Williams re-joins the Bears as a defensive quality control coach after being hired by the club on January 18, 2019. Williams’ first stint with Chicago came in 2018 when he joined the Bears coaching staff throughout the duration of training camp as part of the NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship.
Williams most recently completed his second year as a defensive analyst at Temple in 2018, guiding a defense that led the American Athletic Conference in interceptions (18) and was second in sacks (36) across 13 games. Williams spent the 2016 season at Widener College as an assistant coach, working primarily with the linebackers.
The former linebacker was a four-year letterman at Division II West Chester University where he led the team in tackles for three straight seasons (2011-13). He became the first sophomore and third defensive player in school history to earn first-team All-America honors by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) in 2012.
