Eddy Pineiro was signed by the Raiders in May 2018 as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Florida. He saw action in the 2018 preseason, hitting all three of his field goal attempts, including two from 40+ yards.
The Chicago Bears have acquired him from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a conditional seventh round draft pick in 2021.
Pineiro kicked two years at Florida, connecting on 38 of 43 field goals (.884) and setting a school record for FG percentage in the process. He connected on 29 of his final 30 attempts, including 16 straight to end his career, which is tied for the second-longest streak in program history.
Pineiro was a two-time second team All-SEC performer at UF, declaring for the draft after the 2017 season. In 2017 as a redshirt junior, he connected on 17 of 18 field goals and led the nation with a 94.4 percentage. He was 2 for 2 on attempts of 50-or-more yards and 4 for 5 on attempts of 40-49 yards out. As a sophomore in 2016 he played in 13 games and connected on 21 of 25 attempts (84 percent) and was 3 for 3 on FG attempts of 50-or-more yards.
