What is most impressive Bears interception? | Chalk Talk

Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of questions from fans on ChicagoBears.com.

What a great one-handed interception by rookie Jaquan Brisker! What was the most impressive interception you've ever seen by a Bears player?
Phil K.
Mattoon, Illinois

I completely agree that Jaquan Brisker's first career interception against the Patriots was outstanding. I think fellow rookie Kyler Gordon called him the "OBJ of defense." I've seen a lot of great interceptions in Bears history. Charles Tillman snatching the ball away from Randy Moss in the end zone to preserve a win over the Vikings in 2003 is certainly near the top of my list. But if I'm choosing the most impressive interception in terms of degree of difficulty, I'd go with a Leslie Frazier pick against the Packers in Green Bay in 1984. Frazier was behind receiver John Jefferson, but the Bears cornerback jumped and reached his hands in front of Jefferson to catch the ball without making any contact. I couldn't have been more impressed with the Bears' win over the Patriots. I know they also beat the Buccaneers a few years ago, so my question is: How many teams have defeated both Tom Brady and Bill Belichick over that time period?
Edward S.
Marion, Illinois

The Bears became the fifth NFL team to beat both Tom Brady's Buccaneers and Bill Belichick's Patriots since 2020. The others are the Saints, Rams, Packers and Chiefs. The Bears defeated Tampa Bay 20-19 on Oct. 8, 2020, at Soldier Field. Safety DeAndre Houston-Carson sealed that win by breaking up Brady's fourth-down pass with :33 remaining in a Thursday night game at Soldier Field.

What's the most yards a Bears quarterback has rushed for in a game?
Steve F.
Indiana

The most rushing yards by a Bears quarterback since 1950 is 127 by Bobby Douglass Dec. 17, 1972, in a 28-21 loss to the Raiders in Oakland. Douglass owns three of the four 100-yard rushing games by Bears quarterbacks. The other was by Justin Fields, who ran for a career-high 103 yards last Halloween in a 33-22 loss to the 49ers. Fields' 82 yards on the ground Monday night in New England are tied for the ninth most in a game by a Bears quarterback since 1950.
