Trevathan has started 40-of-59 career contests with the Denver Broncos (2012-15) and Chicago Bears (2016), producing 341 tackles, four sacks, five interceptions – including one returned for a touchdown, 22 pass breakups, 12 TFLs, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He tallied 66 tackles, one sack, four pass breakups and one TFL while starting eight of nine games in his first season as a Bear. Trevathan originally entered the NFL as a 6th round pick (188th overall) in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos out of Kentucky.
