Zach Cable is in his fourth season with the Bears in 2026 and first in a Defensive Quality Control capacity.
Cable possesses seven years of coaching experience, including six seasons in the NFL. Prior to Chicago, Cable spent a year at Northern Colorado (2022) and had a four-year stint with the Raiders (2018-21).
In 2025, Cable continued to work primarily with an offensive line that produced two AP All-Pro players in OL Joe Thuney (First-Team) and OL Darnell Wright (Second-Team) and two Pro Bowl honorees, Thuney and OL Drew Dalman. Along with All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors, Thuney was named the inaugural winner of the NFL Protector of the Year Award, recognizing the NFL's best offensive lineman. The Bears offensive line helped the Bears become the only team in the NFL to have multiple rushers with at least 750 yards on the ground in 2025, finishing the regular season with the No. 3-ranked rushing offense in the NFL. The line protected QB Caleb Williams, who started all 17 games and set the franchise's single-season passing yard record, allowing just 24 sacks, the third-fewest by any team in the league in 2025.
During the 2024 season, Cable worked primarily with an offense line that aided QB Caleb Williams to Bears rookie records across all major passing statistics. In 2023, Cable helped the Bears record 2,399 rushing yards on the season, ranking second amongst all NFL teams.

Before joining the Bears, Cable worked as the outside linebackers coach at the University of Northern Colorado during the 2022 season. Prior to that, he gained his first years of NFL experience working as an offensive and defensive assistant with the Raiders from 2018-21, where he worked with the offensive line, tight ends and linebackers. In his final season in Las Vegas in 2021, the Raiders qualified for the playoffs for the second time since the 2003 season.
Cable played defensive lineman at the University of Idaho. He graduated from Idaho with degrees in Organizational Sciences and General Studies with a minor in Psychology. He is the son of former NFL coach Tom Cable.
Cable is married to his wife, Hannah.
