Matt Feinstein enters his first season as Vice President of Football Administration after five seasons as Director of Football Administration for the Chicago Bears.
Prior to joining the Bears in 2022, Feinstein spent seven years as an integral piece of the NFL's Management Council. Feinstein was promoted to Director of Labor Operations following tenures as a Manager (2016-18), then Senior Manager (2018-22), for the league's primary council of governance.
In his six years in a managerial role for the NFL Management Council, Feinstein constructed quantitative models of collectively bargained roster and salary rules, refined and improved models for time-sensitive analyses and distilled results into summaries for senior management within the NFL, as well as Club management and ownership.
Feinstein joined the NFL Management Council in 2015, serving as an Analytics Assistant. In his initial role, Feinstein executed League-wide player transactions, reconciled salary caps and ensured compliance with League rules. He also worked to identify trends in player transactions, roster management, player contracts and club spending, among other tasks.
A graduate of the University of Michigan (2010), Feinstein earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Prior to the NFL, Feinstein spent six years at Lux Research in New York, where he worked as an analyst (2010-13) before his promotion to Senior Analyst for his remaining three years with the organization (2013-15).
While serving as a Senior Analyst for Lux Research, Feinstein began his career in sports, contributing as a writer to Bloomberg Sports (2013-14).
A native of Commack, N.Y., Feinstein and his wife, Mimi, have one daughter, Sophie.
