Christian Jones re-signs with Bears

Linebacker Christian Jones will return to the Bears for a fourth season after signing a one-year contract extension. Jones originally joined the Bears in 2014 as an undrafted free agent from Florida State.

The Bears on Saturday re-signed restricted free-agent linebacker Christian Jones to a one-year contract.

Since joining the Bears in 2014 as an undrafted free agent from Florida State, he has appeared in 47 games with 20 starts in three seasons, compiling 204 tackles, two sacks, five pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and four tackles-for-loss. Jones also has added 26 special-teams tackles.

Last season the 26-year-old tied his career high with 11 special-teams tackles and registered eight tackles and one pass breakup on defense while appearing in all 16 games with two starts.
