PRO CAREER: Was named to the Pro Bowl and the PFWA’s All-Rookie team after starting all 16 games in his inaugural NFL campaign… First Bears offensive lineman to reach the Pro Bowl since 2006 (R.Brown/O.Kreutz), the first Bears rookie to make the Pro Bowl squad since 2009 (J.Knox) and the first Bears rookie to make the Pro Bowl as a non-specialist since 2000 (B.Urlacher)... Was part of an offensive unit that set franchise records in total net yards and first downs gained in 2013… The 445 points scored by the Bears in 2013 was second only to the ’85 Bears… Was part of an offensive line that allowed its lowest sack total (30) since 2008 and its lowest sack percentage (4.9) since 1982… Helped pave the way for Matt Forte’s 1,339 rushing yards which was good enough for second in the NFL.

COLLEGE: Played in 11 games at Oregon, starting his final 5 contests at left guard in 2012… He was a left offensive tackle for 11 games in 2011 and a reserve defensive end for 11 other contests in 2010 at Saddleback College... Appeared in 11 games in his lone season with the Oregon Ducks, starting his final 5 contests as a left offensive guard…  In 5 games as a starter, he recorded 6 TD-resulting blocks and 36 knockdowns to help the team average of 315.23 yards per game… Was charged with just 1 sack in his 5 games as a starter at Oregon… Ducks gained at least 570 yards in 3 of his 4 regular season starts... Switched to the offensive line his junior season, taking over left tackle duties at Saddleback (Mission Viejo, Cal.) Community College Gauchos… Helped the team average 470.4 yards in total offense per game… Started 7 games and also recorded a solo tackle and attempted 1 pass... In his first season at Saddleback College, appearing in 11 games as a defensive end… Recorded 16 tackles (6 solos) with a 4-yard sack, 2 TFLs of 7 yards and 3 quarterback pressures… Also caused a fumble and deflected 2 passes... Redshirted as a freshman at Florida State after accepting a baseball scholarship from the university.

PERSONAL: Attended St. Anne’s-Belfield (Ivy, Va.) High School, playing football for head coach John Blake... Competed as a two-way lineman in football and as a left-handed pitcher and first baseman for the baseball team… Earned All-state honors in both sports as a sophomore, junior and senior… His best season on the gridiron came during his junior campaign, as he recorded 45 tackles and was named to the Division II All-State team as both a defensive and offensive lineman… In his last two seasons, he led the football team to back-to-back state championships… After his senior year, he participated in the U.S. Army All-American Game… In baseball, he was selected in the 23rd round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft by the Chicago White Sox, but decided to accept a baseball scholarship to Florida State instead... Brother, Chris, plays defensive end for the St. Louis Rams and father, Howie, was an all-pro defensive end for the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders and is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.
