PRO CAREER: Three-time Pro Bowler, becoming first Bears player since Brian Urlacher (2000-02) to be named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three professional football seasons and seventh Bears player to accomplish the feat overall (Long, Urlacher, Gale Sayers, Dick Butkus, Mike Ditka, Rick Casares and Harlon Hill) ... first Bears offensive lineman ever to be named to Pro Bowl in each of his first three professional football seasons … has started 55 games (39 at RG and 16 at RT) in four NFL seasons (2013-16) with Chicago … helped pave the way for 1,000-yard rusher three times (M. Forte: 1,339 in 2013 and 1,038 in 2014 and Jordan Howard: 1,313 in 2016) … named to the PFWA's All-Rookie team in 2013 … was the first Bears offensive lineman to reach the Pro Bowl since 2006 (R. Brown/O. Kreutz), the first Bears rookie to make the Pro Bowl squad since 2009 (J. Knox) and the first Bears rookie to make the Pro Bowl as a non-specialist since 2000 (B. Urlacher).

High School, playing football for head coach John Blake ... competed as a two-way lineman in football and as a left-handed pitcher and first baseman for the baseball team … earned all-state honors in both sports as a sophomore, junior and senior … named to the Division II all-state team as both a defensive and offensive lineman as a junior … in his last two seasons, he led the football team to back-to-back state championships … in baseball, he was selected in the 23rd round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft by the Chicago White Sox, but decided to accept a baseball scholarship to Florida State ... brother, Chris, was a first round draft pick (2nd overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams and father, Howie, was an all-pro defensive end for the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders and is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
