Chalk Talk: When was last time Bears scored 76 points in two games?

Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of questions from fans on ChicagoBears.com.

When was the last time the Bears scored 76 points in back-to-back games?
Phil A.
Hammond, Indiana

The last time the Bears scored at least 76 points in consecutive games was Dec. 9-15, 2013 when they beat the Dallas Cowboys 45-28 and Cleveland Browns 38-31.

Has a Bears quarterback ever thrown nine touchdown passes in back-to-back games like Mitchell Trubisky has done against the Buccaneers and Dolphins?
Fred S.
Willow Springs, Illinois

It's happened only one other time in Bears history. Hall of Famer Sid Luckman accomplished the feat in November 1943 when he threw two touchdown passes in a 21-7 win over the Packers and followed the next week by setting an NFL record with seven TD passes in a 56-7 victory over the Giants. Mitchell Trubisky, as you know, threw six TDs in a 48-10 rout of the Buccaneers and followed with three more in the Bears' next game in a 31-28 overtime loss in Miami.

When was the last time Bears played all four of their AFC opponents in succession like they're doing this year?
Ross W.
Lafayette, Indiana

The last time that happened was in 2011. The Bears beat the Chargers 31-20 in Chicago to improve to 7-3. But Jay Cutler was injured in that game, and the Bears followed with consecutive losses to the Raiders 25-20 in Oakland, the Chiefs 10-3 at Soldier Field and the Broncos 13-10 in overtime in Denver.
