Chalk Talk: Who has Pace picked in middle rounds?

Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of questions from fans on ChicagoBears.com.

With the Bears not having their first- or second-round picks in the draft, I'm hoping they can do some damage in the middle rounds. Who has Ryan Pace selected in the third, fourth and fifth rounds during his tenure as general manager?
Phil P.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Ryan Pace has chosen 13 players in the middle three rounds of the draft in his four years as Bears general manager. Three of them have been selected to the Pro Bowl: 2016 fifth-round running back Jordan Howard, 2017 fourth-round safety Eddie Jackson and 2017 fourth-round running back Tarik Cohen. Two others were regular starters this past season in 2015 fifth-round safety Adrian Amos and 2018 fifth-round defensive tackle Bilal Nichols. The other eight players the Bears have chosen in the middle rounds of the last four drafts have been third-round center Hroniss Grasu and fourth-round running back Jeremy Langford in 2015; third-round defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard, fourth-round linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski, fourth-round safety Deon Bush and fourth-round cornerback Deiondre' Hall in 2016; fifth-round tackle Jordan Morgan in 2017; and fourth-round linebacker Joel Iyiegbuniwe in 2018.

When was the last time the Bears didn't pick until the third round of the draft?
Matt G.
Ocala, Florida

The last time that occurred was in 2010 when the Bears included their first-round pick in a trade with the Broncos in exchange for quarterback Jay Cutler and dealt their second-round choice to the Buccaneers for defensive end Gaines Adams. Despite not having their first two selections, the Bears landed three eventual starters in the 2010 draft in third-round safety Major Wright, fourth-round defensive end Corey Wootton and seventh-round tackle J'Marcus Webb.

I've read that the NFL is thinking about opening its 100th season this fall with a Bears-Packers Thursday night game at Soldier Field. When was the last time the two teams played a prime-time game in Chicago? It seems like they always play at night in Green Bay.
Brian R.
Chicago Heights, Illinois

The last time a Bears-Packers night game was played in Chicago was on Sept. 27, 2010. The Bears won 20-17 on Robbie Gould's 19-yard field goal with :08 left in overtime. The Bears' two touchdowns in the game came on Jay Cutler's 9-yard pass to Greg Olsen and Devin Hester's 62-yard punt return. Night games between the two rivals have been much more common in Green Bay; the Bears and Packers have played under the lights at Lambeau Field each of the past eight years.
