Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of questions from fans on ChicagoBears.com.
When was the last time two Bears teammates both reached double digits in sacks in a season?
Fort Myers, Florida
The last time two Bears both recorded at least 10 sacks in the same season was in 1993 when Richard Dent led the team with 12.5 and Trace Armstrong added 11.5. Entering Week 7, the Bears have two players on pace to accomplish the feat in Khalil Mack (6.0) and Robert Quinn (5.5), though Quinn has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Their 11.5 combined sacks are the most by two teammates in the NFL.
Any word any when Tarik Cohen will return to action? I think he's eligible to be activated off the physically unable to perform list, right?
You are correct, Bob. Opening the season on the physically unable to perform list due to a torn ACL he suffered last year in a Week 3 win over the Falcons required Tarik Cohen to spend the first six weeks of the season on the PUP list. Although he's eligible to return, the Bears have not revealed a timetable about when that's going to happen. Here's what coach Matt Nagy said about Cohen's status this week: "I think that he's very similar to where he's been at. The only thing I can say about him is, he works hard. I see him every single day. He's trying to do everything he can. I appreciate him."
Have any current Bears players ever intercepted Tom Brady?
No current Bears players have intercepted Tom Brady. The future Hall of Famer has thrown four picks in six career games against the Bears. Brian Urlacher had an interception in a 2002 contest in Champaign, Charles Tillman picked off Brady twice in a 2006 matchup in New England, and Kyle Fuller intercepted Brady in a 2018 game at Soldier Field. It's also interesting to note that Bears secondary coach Deshea Townsend not only picked off Brady when Townsend played for the Steelers in 2004 but returned the interception 39 yards for a touchdown.
