The Chicago Bears have launched a fully Spanish-language version of their Virtual History Tour at Halas Hall, adding Spanish narration, captions and seamless navigation to their immersive digital experience. The English version debuted in Fall 2024, and this edition responds to growing demand for language-inclusive access and is built to help Spanish-speaking fans experience the team's story in the language that best reflects their culture and identity.
Expanding access to different languages helps deepen the relationship between sports and culture by creating spaces where all fans feel represented and valued. For many Hispanic and Latino fans, language isn't simply a means of communication, it's part of their identity and sense of belonging. Offering digital experiences in Spanish allows families and fans of all generations to connect with the Chicago Bears' legacy on their own terms, ensuring that the stories, values and traditions of the franchise reach every corner of the community.
In Chicago, nearly 30% of the population identifies as Hispanic or Latino, making the city one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse in the nation, a number that rises even higher when accounting for the surrounding suburbs. Supporting access to Chicago Bears content in Spanish reinforces the organization's commitment to serving the communities that define Chicago's multi-culture identity.
This launch also complements the Chicago Bears' deep-rooted community equity mission. From youth flag football to education programs, the organization continues to build pathways for inclusion, and the Spanish-language Virtual History Tour extends that spirit digitally. It recognizes that representation is essential to belonging and that heritage should be accessible to everyone.
The Spanish-language tour further supports the Chicago Bears' international growth strategy, particularly in Spain, one of the club's designated markets under the NFL Global Markets Program. With Spain hosting its first-ever NFL game this year and American football continuing to expand across Latin America, this effort strengthens the cultural and emotional bridge between Chicago and international audiences, positioning the Chicago Bears as a global ambassador of both football excellence and shared community values.
"Making our history accessible in Spanish is more than translation, it's inclusion," said Dan Yuska, Manager of Team Heritage for the Chicago Bears. "When fans hear their language in our story, they hear themselves. Whether you're in Pilsen or Madrid, this tour says you're part of the legacy. We believe heritage is shared, not stored, and by telling our story in a different language we're saying clearly and loudly that the Chicago Bears' legacy includes everyone who are curious about the history of this team."
In Spain, fewer than 25 percent of the population speak English proficiently according to Spain’s National Statistics Institute, meaning that even in countries where the NFL is growing, English-only content leaves many fans behind. The Spanish version of the Virtual History Tour helps close that gap, offering an experience rooted in language, art and heritage that makes every fan feel part of the Chicago Bears family.
Language remains one of the biggest barriers to cultural connection. Recognizing this, the Chicago Bears approached the project as more than a translation, it's an adaptation of tone, rhythm and storytelling that reflects the emotion and expression of Spanish-speaking audiences. The Spanish version doesn't just mirror the English tour, it reimagines it. While the English version highlights milestones and achievements, the Spanish experience leans into the personal and educational sides of the franchise's history, allowing new fans to explore the Chicago Bears' legacy from a fresh perspective.
The Spanish-language tour is now live and accessible at ChicagoBears.com/History and via the Chicago Bears Official App, brought to you by Verizon.
