Saddened. True "LEGEND". Wonderful man. Kind. Time for everyone. Gentle giant in his profession. A Chicago Bear to the core. Building strength one player at a time, and bonds for a lifetime. Thank you for all of your advice & friendship. Peace to family and friends. https://t.co/T9vSGSFbZy

Very sad day. They called Clyde Emrich "The Legend," but he was more than that. For about 60 years, he touched more people associated with the Chicago Bears than anyone. And he left each of them better for knowing him. May the road rise up to meet you, Clyde.

Clyde Emrich was a fascinating man who had a lifetime of accomplishment before he ever became an NFL strength coach. He always had time for you, always had a story to tell and always had good, fresh ideas. Anyone who met him will never forget him. https://t.co/fk2Ctwsn9g

Clyde Emrich, who first became associated with the #Bears in 1963 and was hired as the first strength coach in the NFL in 1971, has died. The man that was affectionately called 'The Legend' was 90. Crossed paths with Clyde hundreds of times. Never once was he not smiling.
