Christmas came early for hundreds of shoppers in Florida recently, thanks to a generous gesture from Bears outside linebacker Khalil Mack.

The Walmart located in Mack's hometown of Fort Pierce, Fla., announced on its Facebook page last Friday night that Mack had paid off all of the store's holiday layaway accounts. According to the Chicago Tribune, Mack spent about $80,000 to pay off 300-350 holiday layaway accounts.

"We here at Walmart would like to thank the Khalil Mack Foundation for your generosity, and for making so many families happy for the holidays!" the store wrote on Facebook.

According to its website, the mission of the Khalil Mack Foundation is to "positively affect the lives of intercity and under-privileged youth and families by providing for the community, through educational and extra-curricular initiatives, a safe and enjoyable environment where we intend to aid in learning successful character traits through sport, and creating opportunities to financial resources and meaningful experiences to all we serve."
