NFL analyst Michael Fabiano ranks Bears third-round draft pick David Montgomery, a running back from Iowa State, as the No. 2 rookie in fantasy football.

The Bears traded up 14 spots to select Montgomery with the No. 73 pick in the draft. He played in 37 games the past three seasons at Iowa State, rushing for 2,925 yards and 26 touchdowns on 624 carries and catching 71 passes for 582 yards.

Last year the Cincinnati native appeared in 12 games, rushing for a career-high 1,216 yards and 13 TDs on 257 attempts and had 22 receptions for 157 yards.

"Montgomery is coming off a season that saw him finish with a 4.7 yards-per-rush average and 13 touchdowns on the ground," Fabiano wrote. "He also hauled in 22 passes as a receiver and had a combined 58 combined catches in his last two seasons with the Cyclones. In Chicago, I'd project him as a potential flex starter as the early-down workhorse in a backfield committee with Tarik Cohen."

The only rookie Fabiano ranks ahead of Montgomery is Raiders running back Josh Jacobs, who was chosen by Oakland with the 24th pick in the first round. Jacobs is expected to replace the retired Marshawn Lynch as the Raiders' starting running back.
