NFL FLAG Essentials

On Saturday, October 3rd, the Chicago Bears, GENYOUth, Fuel Up to Play 60, NFL and Midwest Dairy Council hosted the NFL FLAG Essentials training program at the Bears training facility in Lake Forest. Over 100 teachers made their way through the Walter Payton Center where they received professional development and instruction on the NFL FLAG Football curriculum for Physical Educators.

Bears alumni players James "Big Cat" Williams and Anthony Morgan joined in on the fun with the teachers as they went over NFL FLAG rules, techniques and even played some live games. The instruction was enjoyed by all the teachers who were also happy to receive NFL FLAG kits for their schools.

Chicago was chosen as a focus city for the NFL FLAG Essentials training program for the second year in a row as the NFL continues expand their commitment to youth health and wellness. This year, NFL FLAG Essentials Kits will be given to one million students across 2,500 schools nationwide.

NFL FLAG provides children of all ages with the opportunity to be active and learn the basics of football in a fun environment. This program is unique in its approach to offering the full package of equipment, curriculum, training and recognition to support PE teachers.
