What is Fox's record after bye?

Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of email questions from fans on ChicagoBears.com.

What is John Fox's record in games immediately after a bye week?

Kevin B.
Rolling Meadows, Illinois

John Fox is 10-4 after bye weeks as head coach of the Panthers, Broncos and Bears. Prior to losing last year 23-20 to the Vikings in his first year with the Bears, he had won his previous seven straight games following a bye with his last defeat coming in 2007. That included a 4-0 record with the Broncos, with wins over the Dolphins 18-15 in overtime in 2011, the Saints 34-14 in 2012, the Chargers 28-20 in 2013 and the Cardinals 41-20 in 2014.

Does Jordan Howard have a chance to break the Bears rookie rushing record?

Evan B.
Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin

Having rushed for 505 yards on 99 carries through the first eight games this season, Jordan Howard would need to average 91.8 yards over the final eight weeks to break Matt Forte's record of 1,238 yards set in 2008. So I would say it's possible but not probable that Howard is able to accomplish that feat. The fact that the Bears like to employ a backfield-by-committee will work against him in that quest, though it should keep him fresh and enable him to ultimately be more successful in the long run.

Which Bears players are the biggest Cubs fans?

Stanley R.
Zion, Illinois

Receiver Alshon Jeffery and tight end Zach Miller are the two biggest fans that I know of in terms of players. But it's safe to say that chairman George H. McCaskey is an even bigger fan. I've frequently seen him at games and talked to him about the Cubs on several occasions.
