Bears ink Taylor Boggs, Derrick Martin

The Bears on Monday signed center Taylor Boggs and safety Derrick Martin to one-year contracts.

Boggs was active for all 16 games in his first season with the Bears in 2013, but he appeared in only one contest. The 6-3, 285-pounder spent the previous two seasons with the New York Jets after signing as an undrafted free agent, but he did not appear in a regular-season game.

Martin appeared in seven contests with the Bears in 2013, registering one tackle on defense and six stops on special teams. The 5-10, 198-pounder has played in 73 NFL games with four starts over eight seasons with the Ravens (2006-08), Packers (2009-10), Giants (2011), Patriots (2012) and Bears, recording 66 special-teams tackles, 38 stops on defense, three interceptions, eight pass breakups, one sack and one fumble recovery.
