Bears to host 5K run

LAKE FOREST, IL — The Chicago Bears and Nike have teamed up to help fans celebrate Back to Football Week with the first Super Bears Shuffle 5K taking place at Soldier Field on Thursday, September 4, at 6:30 pm.

Registration for the event begins on Thursday, July 17 at 11:00 am and includes entry into the Super Bears Shuffle 5K, a Nike performance running shirt, a Chicago Bears commemorative race bib and a kickoff pep rally on the lawn outside of Soldier Field. Participants who register with the Nike Running App and utilize the training program for the race will be eligible for a product reward at packet pick-up.

Participants will enjoy a unique Bears themed experience from start to finish, including a gameday-like atmosphere and entertainment from the Bears Drumline, Staley Da Bear and much more. The kickoff pep rally, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 5:30 pm and will feature a viewing of the NFL's 2014 Kickoff Game between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers, Back to Football Week schedule posters, opportunities to win Bears tickets and merchandise, alumni autographs, giveaways, games and partner displays. Food, beverages and Bears Pro Shop merchandise will be available for purchase.

Early registration (July 17-August 18) will be $45 per person (13 and older in age) and $30 per child (12 and under). After that time, registration will be $50 per person (13 and older) and $35 per child (12 and under).

The Super Bears Shuffle 5K in partnership with Nike is a Fleet Feet Sports signature event sponsored by the Chicago Tribune.
