Here are some notable numbers and stats from the Bears' 42-38 loss to the 49ers Sunday night in San Francisco:

1

Games in which the Bears have returned an interception for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage, since at least 1978. T.J. Edwards accomplished the feat Sunday night when he picked off a Brock Purdy pass that was deflected by Jaylon Johnson and brought it back 34 yards for a score with just :15 elapsed. It was the first touchdown of Edwards' seven-year NFL career.

4

Consecutive games in which Caleb Williams has thrown multiple touchdown passes, the longest stretch of his career. The Bears quarterback has also passed for at least 240 yards and two TDs with no interceptions in three straight starts for the first time in his two NFL seasons. His 330-yard performance Sunday night was his first 300-yard game of the year after he produced four last season as a rookie.

38

Points scored by the Bears, their second highest total of the season behind their 47-42 win over the Bengals Nov. 2 in Cincinnati. The Bears scored touchdowns in all four quarters Sunday night for the third time this year.

23

Starts in which Williams has not thrown an interception in his two seasons with the Bears, second in the NFL to the Eagles' Jalen Hurts (24) during that span. Williams has thrown 45 TD passes and 12 interceptions, a 3.6-to-1 TD-to-interception ratio that is the second highest by any quarterback with at least 500 attempts since the 1970 NFL/AFL merger behind Aaron Rodgers (4.3).

9

Rushing TDs scored by D'Andre Swift this season, eclipsing the eight he had as a Lions rookie in 2020 for the most in his career. Swift rushed for two TDs Sunday night and gained 54 yards, reaching the 1,000-yard mark this year for the second time. His 1,047 yards are just two shy of his personal best 1,049 with the Eagles in 2023.

Plus-22

Bears turnover ratio this season, tops in the NFL. The next best team is plus-14. Edwards' interception was the only turnover in Sunday night's game. The Bears lead the league in most takeaways (32) and fewest giveaways (10).

8 and 138

Receptions and yards, respectively, generated by rookie receiver Luther Burden III, the most in both categories in his career. He produced four of the Bears' seven longest plays from scrimmage Sunday night with catches of 38, 27, 25 and 24 yards.

9

Consecutive games in which the Bears have generated a takeaway, the longest active streak in the NFL. It's the first time they've forced turnovers in nine straight contests in a single season since 2012.

10

Points the Bears have permitted on their opponents' first possession of games this season, the fewest in the NFL. The only scores they've allowed were a touchdown to the Lions in Week 2 and a field goal to the Bengals in Week 9. They have not given up points on their opponents' opening drive in their last eight games.

1

Regular-season games in NFL history that have been tied at 7, 14, 21, 28 and 35. Sunday night's Bears-49ers contest was the first such contest.
