Have the Bears selected their captains for the season yet?
Ross H.
Frankfort, Illinois

The Bears will continue to utilize a different captain in all three phases every week during the season. Their captains for Week 1 are running back David Montgomery (offense), linebacker Roquan Smith (defense) and safety DeAndre Houston-Carson (special teams). Coach Matt Nagy was asked specifically why Montgomery was selected and here's what he had to say: "There's a lot of guys I could have picked, but he's somebody that exemplifies from start to finish just everything about how the day goes. The way we do this, picking one guy, it's hard. You wish you could pick more. But I know the guys appreciate that."
