Bears defensive end Montez Sweat has been voted the 91st best player in the NFL in a poll of league players.

Last season, Sweat recorded 10.0 sacks and 53 tackles—the second most of his career in both categories—as well as 13 tackles-for-loss, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and five pass breakups. It was his second double-digit sack campaign in three years.

"I loved him during the season, but when you watch the self-scout after the year, I think this was a guy that played at a very high level," coach Ben Johnson said earlier this month. "I talked to him about, 'Hey, I would argue it was the best year of his career.' Whether that showed up statistically or not, that's debatable, but his ability to play the run, play the pass, I thought he did a really nice job, and hopefully it's something we can piggyback on and carry that momentum into this year."

Sweat was acquired by the Bears Oct. 31, 2023, in a trade with the Commanders. He was voted to his first career Pro Bowl later that year after becoming the first player in NFL history to lead two teams in sacks in a season, registering 6.5 with Washington and 6.0 with the Bears.

The "NFL Top 100" countdown is underway on X. Two players will be revealed at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. CT daily Monday through Friday from June 22-Aug. 21, before one Top 10 player is unveiled each weekday beginning at 9 a.m. CT on Monday, Aug. 24 through Friday, Sept. 4.
