Pro Bowl Postcards: Nahshon Wright | Monday , Feb. 2
As told to Gabby Hajduk

The Bears have four players — offensive linemen Joe Thuney and Drew Dalman and defensive backs Nahshon Wright and Kevin Byard III — participating in the 2025 Pro Bowl Games this week in San Francisco. Check out Wright's postcard from his hometown as he takes his family on a trip to the zoo that felt like a full circle moment for the cornerback.

Hey Bears fans,

It's Nahshon here checking in from my first Pro Bowl Games and my home city. I grew up about 20, 25 minutes from San Francisco in East Palo Alto and went to high school across the bay at James Logan in Union City.

To be here, at home, in San Francisco with my family — I don't think I could have asked for a better first Pro Bowl. It's definitely cool to be representing the Bears and just capping off an incredible season in Chicago.

My fianceé, Amanda, and our two daughters, Avani and Mayari, literally live 30 minutes away from the city, so we just drove over Sunday afternoon and have been enjoying being at the hotel and feeling like a tourist, even though none of it is new to us.

Today after our second Pro Bowl practice, we took a trip to the zoo for some family time, and it ended up really feeling like a full circle moment for me. I remember my dad taking me, my brother, Rejzohn, and our step-siblings to the same zoo when I was about 10 years old.

It's crazy because the most vivid memory I have of that day was seeing the gorillas throw poop over the enclosure. It was wild. Luckily, we got to see the gorillas just chillin' today.

Now for me to bring Amanda and my daughters here, and Rejzohn to bring his wife and little girl here too, it's just a really cool feeling. My family, they've been by my side through everything and they've seen the not so good parts of being in the NFL.

Seeing Avani And Mayari run around with their Pro Bowl t-shirts on, and having my family enjoy the fruits of my labor, it's really rewarding. It makes me really proud of myself and I'm just happy we're getting to make these memories together.

My girls are actually infatuated with animals too, so bringing them here was the perfect time. I know Avani was excited to see the penguins. She was talking on our drive here about wanting to see them, and then Mayari, she just loves all the animals. I think, ironically, the gorillas were actually her favorite today. It's so cool to watch them experience seeing these types of animals in person for the first time.

We also met up with KB and his family at the zoo, and it was fun to spend a little time together outside of football. It's really nice experiencing the Pro Bowl and all of this with my teammates — KB, Drew, Joe. I'm just enjoying being around them and former teammates or guys I know from just being around the league.

I know we're wrapping things up tomorrow with the actual Pro Bowl Games, but I know my family and I are just going to enjoy ourselves the rest of the time we're out in the city, go grab some good food and get ready to beat the AFC tomorrow.

Bear Down!
