The Chicago Bears on Tuesday signed defensive back Tre Flowers and defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon.
Flowers has appeared in 95 career games (44 starts) since entering the league as a fifth-round selection (146th overall) by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2018 NFL Draft. Over seven professional seasons, Flowers has totaled 270 tackles (211 solo), 22 passes defensed and four interceptions, as well as four tackles for loss, including two sacks, to go along with five forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries for the Seahawks (2018-21), Cincinnati Bengals (2021-22), Atlanta Falcons (2023), Jacksonville Jaguars (2024) and Indianapolis Colts (2024). Flowers has logged 10 postseason games played, starting three, for the Seahawks (2018-20) and Bengals (2021-22). A native of Converse, Texas, Flowers prepped collegiately at Oklahoma State (2014-17), securing All-Big 12 Conference recognition following each of his last two seasons, including first-team honors as a team captain in 2017 after leading the Cowboys with 79 tackles.
Kpassagnon joins the Bears after spending his first eight professional seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs (2017-20) and New Orleans Saints (2021-24). Since entering the NFL as a second-round selection (No. 59 overall) by the Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft, Kpassagnon has appeared in 104 regular-season games, starting 34 along the defensive front, totaling 140 tackles (93 solo), 22 tackles for loss, including 16.5 sacks, as well as 42 total quarterback hits, nine passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Kpassagnon has logged eight games played (six starts) in the postseason over his career, including all three outings in 2019 en route to a World Championship with a victory in Super Bowl LIV for the Kansas City Chiefs. A product of Villanova, Kpassagnon collected First-Team All-Coastal Athletic Association honors following each of his final two seasons, as well as the 2016 CAA Defensive Player of the Year.
The Bears on Tuesday also activated wide receiver Jahdae Walker and running back Ian Wheeler from the Non-Football Injury list and waived defensive back Alex Cook and defensive lineman Jereme Robinson.
