The Chicago Bears on Tuesday announced that the club has signed 2025 AP Second-Team All-Pro offensive lineman Darnell Wright to a four-year extension through 2031.

"Darnell has consistently elevated his play and the performance of his teammates since joining our team, and we look forward to his continued growth and leadership for years to come."

Wright earned his first-career AP All-Pro recognition in 2025, starting all 18 appearances at right tackle (postseason included), as the third-year pro helped lead Chicago to an NFC North Division title and an appearance in the NFC Divisional Round. Wright helped anchor a Bears offensive front that helped lead the league in fewest giveaways (11) in the regular season last year, ranking No. 4 in the NFL over the final 14 weeks of the regular season.

Since entering the league as a first-round selection (10th overall) by Chicago in the 2023 NFL Draft, Wright has started all 49 career regular-season appearances at right tackle for the Bears, adding two starts in the postseason in 2025. Last year, Wright helped lead an offensive line that made Chicago the only team in the NFL to have multiple rushers with at least 750 yards on the ground, finishing the regular season with the No. 3-ranked rushing offense in the NFL. Additionally, Wright protected QB Caleb Williams, who set the franchise's single-season passing yard record, allowing just 24 sacks, the third-fewest by any team in the league in 2025.

A native of Huntington, W. Va., Wright started 42-of-47 career games played at Tennessee (2019-22), earning First-Team All-Southeastern Conference honors following his final season with the Volunteers (2022). Wright started all 13 games at right tackle for Tennessee in 2022, earning SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week recognition on two occasions, leading to his first-team all-conference selection.
