Roster Moves: Chicago Bears elevate two from practice squad

The Chicago Bears announced that the club has elevated defensive lineman Jonathan Ford and kicker Jake Moody from the practice squad for Monday night's game against the Washington Commanders. Per NFL regulation, all standard elevations revert back to the practice squad following the game.

Additionally, defensive lineman Austin Booker (knee) and running back Travis Homer (calf) have been downgraded to out and remain on Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return.

Moody joined Chicago's practice squad prior to Week 2. A two-time collegiate All-American and 2021 Lou Groza Award recipient, Moody began his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers (2023-25), appearing in 35 games (postseason included), totaling 258 points scored. Entering the league as a third-round selection (No. 99 overall) by the 49ers in 2023, Moody made 46 field goals in the regular season, as well as 94-of-96 PATs (97.9 pct.). In Super Bowl LVIII, Moody connected on all three field goal attempts, including two makes of 50-plus yards (55 and 53). A native of Northville, Mich., Moody prepped at the University of Michigan (2018-22), appearing in a program-record 60 career games and amassing a school-record 355 points scored. Moody earned All-America honors following each of his final two seasons at Michigan, including consensus recognition in 2021 after converting 23-of-25 field goal attempts and making all 56 of his PATs for the Big Ten Conference champions.

Ford is in his second season with the Bears, appearing in each of the final four games last season for the Bears and Chicago's Week 4 matchup at Las Vegas. Ford entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection (234th overall) by the Green Bay Packers in the 2022 NFL Draft, spending each of his first three professional seasons with the Packers before being signed by the Bears to Chicago's active roster off of Green Bay's practice squad. A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Ford appeared in 50 career games (30 starts) over five collegiate seasons (2017-21) at Miami (Fla.), totaling 60 tackles, including three sacks, as well as one pass defensed and one forced fumble.
