Injury Update: T.J. Edwards set to return Monday night in Seattle

Injury Update T.J. Edwards jf 2026 Week 8 16x9 - 1W

Linebacker T.J. Edwards will be back in action Monday night in Seattle after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury.

A full participant in practice all week, the veteran's return will boost the defense, including on-field communication, as he serves as the group's play-caller.

"I think what you feel from T.J. certainly during practice and then during games is just the communication aspect," coach Ben Johnson said Oct. 16. "You know everyone's going to know exactly what's going on, where to line up, he's going to be quick and decisive with the calls and he never panics."

Elsewhere on defense, defensive back Malik Muhammad (toe) and linebacker D'Marco Jackson (ankle) are both listed as questionable for the primetime game.

Muhammad injured his toe in the third quarter of last Thursday night's win over the Patriots and was limited in practice all week. Linebacker D'Marco Jackson (ankle) was a full participant in Saturday's practice after not participating Friday.

Running back Kyle Monangai will miss his fourth consecutive game battling toe and thumb injuries he suffered in Week 4. Johnson told reporters Saturday that he can't speak to when Monangai will return but that he's "hopefully every week that he'll make his return because he knows how much we want him here on offense."

"I think every time you have an injury, you don't know how a player's going to bounce back from that, and I think we've had a number of guys that have been able to return a little bit sooner than we thought and anticipated initially, and then that's not always the case," Johnson said. "So, obviously we didn't feel like it was warranted to put him on IR for a stretch of time, and yet we're still hopeful we'll get him back sooner rather than later."

Other players on the injury report without a designation for Monday's game are tight end Colston Loveland (neck) and linebacker Jack Sanborn (concussion).

Loveland popped up on the injury report Friday as a limited participant in practice, but participated fully Saturday after Johnson told reporters, "We're hoping it's a minor thing."
