Bears ink rookie running back Caldwell

The Bears on Monday signed rookie running back Josh Caldwell.

Caldwell entered the NFL with the Chiefs this spring as an undrafted free agent from Northwest Missouri State.

In Kansas City's preseason opener against the Bengals, Caldwell rushed for a game-high 59 yards and one touchdown on four carries.

Caldwell fills the roster spot that was created Sunday when the Bears waived kicker Elliott Fry.
