Here are some notable numbers and stats from the Bears' 24-24 tie with the Dolphins in the preseason opener at Soldier Field:

52

Years since the Bears played a preseason game that ended in a tie. Coincidentally, that contest was also against the Dolphins, a 9-9 deadlock on Aug. 18, 1973, at Soldier Field. In 1974, the NFL instituted an overtime period in an attempt to reduce ties. The league eliminated overtime for preseason games in 2021.

57

Yards of Cairo Santos' field goal as time expired in the first half. It would have been the longest of his career, besting the 55-yarders he made in 2020 and 2023. Santos' eight field goals from at least 50 yards last season broke his Bears record of seven he had set the previous year. He has made 19 of 22 kicks (86.4%) from at least 50 yards over the past three seasons.

14

Bears players who caught passes in Sunday's game. Receiver Maurice Alexander led the team with four receptions, including a sensational 4-yard touchdown in which he leaped high in the back of the end zone to haul in a Tyson Bagent pass.

96.5

The combined passer rating of the three Bears quarterbacks who played against the Dolphins. Case Keenum (139.6), Bagent (77.3) and Austin Reed (60.8) teamed up to complete 26 of 39 passes for 224 yards with three TDs and one interception.

29

Receiving yards by rookie second-round pick Luther Burden III on two catches. The Missouri product's 16-yard reception from Bagent on third-and-15 sustained a second-quarter drive that resulted in Alexander's touchdown.

6

Sacks by the Bears defense. End Austin Booker led the unit with three, while end Dominique Robinson, tackle Zacch Pickens and safety Alex Cook all registered one apiece.

26

Yards of the Bears' longest play from scrimmage, a pass from Keenum over the middle to receiver Samori Toure in the third quarter.

88

Degrees at kickoff, combined with 55% humidity, which made the game feel more like it was being played in Miami.
